Shoppers say it doesn’t settle into wrinkles
Tempera writes that a buzzy beauty brand sometimes prompts an immediate trial; most recently that was Merit Beauty, which Jenna Dewan uses for a glowy Dancing with the Stars makeup look. Dewan is not the only celebrity wearer, especially of the Flush Balm blush, Tempera notes — Lindsay Lohan’s makeup artist used it for a recent Vogue Arabia cover shoot, and Laura Dern wore it on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet over the summer. Katie Holmes, Margot Robbie, and Reese Witherspoon have also worn it. Merit sent Tempera the roll-on product in a new color to test, and it immediately entered her routine.

Merit Beauty Flush Balm
Blush is Tempera’s favorite product; she owns 15 shades. She usually favors mauve, but Postmodern, described as a new deep pink-brown shade, unexpectedly became her go-to. Its buildable formula can give a subtle cold-weather flush or a bold red-carpet look with one product.
Tempera admits to overapplying blush. She previously used Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush for years and liked its pigment, but one extra dab was hard to tone down without remover. By contrast, the new roll-on was forgiving: after an overzealous application a few days earlier, she blended it out with a brush and removed a little extra with a tissue without starting over.
The skincare ingredients stand out to Tempera. Vitamin E is said to hydrate, soothe, and plump while giving a sun-kissed glow. Octyldodecanol, an emollient credited by the brand with the smooth, easy application, is also present. The product also works as a lip stain or eyeshadow.
Shoppers praised the creamy blush for easy glide and a glass-like finish. A 65-year-old fan said it does not settle into wrinkles or creases and bought a second color. Others praised long-lasting color, which Tempera says matched her experience.
