Speaking to The Cut for its October 2026 cover, Die My Love actress Lawrence, 36, discussed her own beauty standards as she prepares to enter the beauty industry with her haircare brand Mes. She prides herself on looking great with a low-effort approach, and she aspires to be a “sexy mom” at school drop-off for her boys — and she plans to get a facelift in the future.
In her own words to The Cut, she wants to be a sexy mom, and at drop-off she wants to look like a woman who has everything together even when she has just woken up and does not.
The Hunger Games star and her husband, Cooke Maroney, are parents of two sons: Cy, 4, and a 19-month-old whose name has not been revealed publicly. Lawrence keeps her personal life, especially details about her children, out of the spotlight, sharing only small tidbits about life as a mom.
During a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025, Lawrence discussed how becoming a parent affected her career. In her words, having children changes everything and her whole life, and it is both brutal and incredible. Children factor into every work decision — whether, where and when she works — and they have taught her things and opened up the world to her.
Back in January, Lawrence appeared on the SmartLess podcast and said she thinks of herself as a stay-at-home mom rather than a working actor, while noting she is obviously working. She added that she is not used to being this busy. Normally, she has a busy three months while filming, which is calm because there is nothing else to do — work, home, sleep, repeat — plus about two weeks of promotion, which is hectic.
She also shared insight on her co-parenting relationship with Maroney, whom she described as the “opposite” of her. In her words, she married someone who is the opposite of her: he is so organized, an anchor, and everything is ordered. She has to keep closet doors closed and has her own little jobs she works hard to do. She now understands the children are on a very strict schedule — breakfast at 7:30, for example — and he is good at keeping it. But to keep their marriage alive, she has a 15-minute wiggle room.
