DBS Guy started in 2025 with one simple idea: finding a good idea online should not feel like work.

Most of us have done the same thing. You spot a nail design, a room you love, or an outfit worth copying. You save it. And when you finally go back to it, the one detail you actually needed is missing — which shade it was, how it was done, what it looks like from the other side.

That gap is the reason this site exists. DBS Guy is where we put the full idea: the whole look, the steps behind it, and enough detail to let you try it yourself without hunting across ten other tabs.

Who runs DBS Guy

DBS Guy is run by David James, who writes and edits the guides published here. Every article on this site goes through one pair of hands before it reaches you, which is exactly how we want it — it keeps the voice consistent and it keeps the quality in one person’s control.

How we work

A person writes and edits everything. Every guide is written, reviewed, and edited before it is published. Nothing goes live unread.
We go back and update. Trends move, products get discontinued, prices change. When a guide stops being accurate, we fix it rather than leave it.
Our images are ours to use. Every image on this site is created by us, licensed for commercial use, or used with permission. Where a third party is credited, that credit sits alongside the work.
Health posts are general information only. They are never medical advice, and we say so on every one of them.
We correct mistakes. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Why it matters to us

There is a lot of content online that exists to fill a page. We would rather publish fewer guides that are genuinely worth someone’s time than a pile that wastes it. If you leave a page here knowing something you didn’t know when you arrived, we have done our job.
